How To Install Kerbal Space Program Mods Mac

Me too, been looking through all the libary files and organisation files for the last hour trying to look for the parts folder. Possibly there is a seperate download for macs? or they aren't compatible yet?

Don't really know how the filesystem stuff works on Macs, sorry, Some other option of course is to BootCamp it and run KSP on the Windows side.

I don't own a MAC simply usually correct clicking in Steam, selecting Properties and navigating to Local files tab works. You lot can find and pick to open the folder in that location only that'due south for PC version and mayhap MAC doesn't take that option.

Thank you guys. Normally all programme files are stored in the libary/awarding support folder. I can find the Steam files but not the ksp files. Information technology'due south odd, I'1000 new to mount lion so perhaps they have inverse something in the finder options that I oasis't noticed yet. Another odd thing is that the ksp icon appears on the launchpad but not in the applications folder.....

It should be in the steam folder under "steamapps/common/kerbal infinite program". Where that is on a Mac, i have no idea.

I hate Macs.

Information technology's nether Macintosh Hard disk drive/Users/[YourMacUsername]/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps.

From in that location, game files are under /common, and source mods are, appropriately, under /sourcemods.

The reason it's then hard to observe is because the Library folder in the higher up path is hidden from view in Finder. I only found it by following the above communication to have Steam take you straight to a game's local files. To un-hide the binder permanently, open the Concluding (in your Applications folder under Utilities) and run this command:

chflags nohidden ~/Library

And that should practise it. If, for some reason, you ever want to re-hide it, only run the aforementioned command while replacing "nohidden" with "hidden".

Amazing, nice 1 fellas. Thanks!

At that place is an easier way to find your user library binder. Click on your desktop. After the Edit and View Card, you lot will see Go. Click on the "Become" menu once so that you tin run into it's contents. Now printing "option" Your subconscious library folder will show upwards underneath the Home and above the Calculator pick! When you release the pick button on the keyboard the library dissapears again.

Alternatively, the SIMPLEST fashion to install mods is using CKAN, the Comprehensive Kerbal Archive Network. Using the CKAN frontend, yous tin can easily select mods to install, remove, or update, and information technology will notify you of whatever other dependencies to make your mods piece of work. It quite literally takes all of the headaches out of modding the game. The biggest recommendation of all, withal, is that you MAKE A COPY of your Steam install into a seperate folder BEFORE you mod anything, and so modernistic the copy. This does two things: ane) preserves your Steam install from any potential "mod breakage" if something goes awry, and 2) preserves your mod install from getting broken past and updates to the game via Steam. It'southward but good sense, if you take the HDD infinite to support 2 installations of the game. It'due south also a adept way to permit yourself to experiment with modding, while e'er having the ability to play the game unmodded at any time if you cull to, without having to "unmod" and bargain with the save-game and .craft conflicts that ascend from removing mods.

Here'due south how it'due south done for Macs. What you need to to first is open Steam, and and so navigate to your library tab in one case Steam is up and running. Then, on the listing that'south on the left where all your games are listed, correct click the game that you want to employ the mod to. A mini menu will popular up showing a list of options. At the very bottom there is an selection called "properties." Click that, and Steam volition open up up a split up window showing the backdrop of your selected game. In that window are five tabs. General, updates, local files, betas, and DLC. In this scenario, you want to go to the local files tab. In that tab there are 4 buttons. Browse local files, back upward game files, delete local game content, and verify integrity of game cache. Click "scan local files" and Finder volition open a window that shows the game's own dedicated binder with all of its files needed to play. If whatsoever One of those files are missing, the game might non play properly, so be careful. Finally, drag what e'er mod you want to add and you're washed. Only thing left to exercise now is to boot the game up and see if it worked. I tried this with the uncensored mod for HuniePop, and it worked splendidly. HOWEVER!! Be warned that if the mod does non function properly or at all, the reason is near likely because information technology is incompatible with the electric current version of the game, if it gets any updates that is. In this scenario, I would suggest giving the developer a heads up. Not the developer of the game itself, only the specific mod. Chances are they'll try to prepare information technology to make it compatible with the updates. Promise this helps!

Steam > library > Right click KSP > Properties > Local > Browse Local Files : opens KSP files in finder

Drag the modern folder to the GameData binder in the KSP window. If the mod folder is called GameData, concord choice and elevate the file to the KSP window. You lot should become a prompt. Click on merge.

If the mod you're using has a 'Ships' binder, merge that with the 'Ships' folder in KSP.
